WHEN DEMONS DIE
The visual concept of this credit sequence is based on parallax shifting and inspired by still-life painting. Two-dimensional photos were split into three-dimensional layers and animated with minimal movement. Consequently, the images are perceived as unnaturally slow and therefore strange and creating a feeling of oppression.
With its slow pace the credit sequence works as a counterpoint for the fast pace of the film. It gives the audience space and time to reflect on previously seen images and enables them to see the story from a different perspective.
The typography refers to the North American setting in which the story takes place. The combination of „Tungsten“ and „StandardCT“ fonts creates a modern and simple image. A link to the horror genre is established through application of grunge textures.
