PATTERNSOF HORST
Research on patterns from my urban environment and their regenerative transformation through rotation, following the model of „Patterns of Nature“ by Horst P. Horst (1946).
I have searched for motives that simultaneously contain floral elements and man-made objects. The images were cut to a square aspect ratio, placed into two rows with four pictures next to each other. They were partially mirrored and assembled into a collage. The small square images were then rotated by 45 degrees and thus created new stages. The aim of the experiment was to prove the regenerative properties of quadratic forms with existing textures and hence to create a generator for abstract patterns by simple rotations along their own axis.
